WHAT DOES “IN THE PAINT” MEAN?

The paint is an area on the basketball court that is referred to as the key. It is usually painted a different color than the rest of the court. That small amount of space is similar to the space you will need at home or wherever you wake up (work trip, vacation etc.) for the day to get your workout done.


The STANDARD FORMAT of #InThePaint is a results focused approach inspired by Tabata style workouts that include: strength, cardio and plyometric work with a basketball flair! It was created for time-pressed individuals who desire convenient, shorter and energetic workouts that don’t sacrifice quality of the exercise program.


In addition, #InThePaint offers a KICK, CORE & STRENGTH format and isolated CORE CAMP classes.

KICK – is 30 minutes of mixed martial arts inspired moves set to Tabata timing with the option to work continuously through the 30 minute workout.

CORE – is a foundational class that focuses on the complete core with moves for the back, butt, gut & deltoids.

STRENGTH – is a low weight high repetition class that last for 40 minutes and focuses on all the major muscle groups in one setting: Squats, Chest, Back, Triceps, Biceps, Lunges, Shoulders & Abs!

Coach Joi is a Pharmacist (est. 2006) and Fitness Coach (est. 2011) in the Macon Middle GA community. She is a trained & certified (AFAA) Primary Group Exercise Instructor who concentrated on International renowned Les Mills certification training classes to ignite her fitness career. Blossoming in BODYPUMP and BODYCOMBAT within a year she went on to Misty Mylrea’s Tabata Boot Camp training and earned another fitness certification. Right about the time Joi came on the fitness scene and took the Tabata training, this new trend of H.I.I.T. catapulted to the top of the fitness faves list promptly. It has not slowed pace since that time.

Now, Joi a division II collegiate 4-time champion basketball player, and author of “Diets Are Dead Win Small with M.E.D.S.” has married her loves of group fitness with the game of basketball to bring you a program with obtainable athleticism with a unique spin. “In the Paint”, she offers strategies to get your weight loss and fitness results straight from her POWER PLAYBOOK! A group fitness instructor, student and enthusiast, Coach Jones is equally excited about the community connections that you will make with others by working out together and celebrating fitness 30 minutes at a time.
